Construction Operator Gr2 – Mining Equipment

About the role

The Operator Gr2 (Construction) will operate mobile equipment to build and maintain mining infrastructure such as haul roads and signage. Working under the direction of the Supervisor and Operations Controller, the role ensures tasks are completed safely and efficiently on Kumba Iron Ore sites.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑shift equipment inspections and record any safety deviations.
• Operate mobile equipment safely to construct haul roads, install signage and perform other construction tasks.
• Identify and report maintenance issues promptly to the Supervisor or Operations Controller.
• Participate in safety meetings, SLAM/HIRA assessments and adhere to all health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Communicate hazards, risks and operational problems to peers and supervisors to maintain shift efficiency.
