Compliance Specialist

About the role

The Compliance Specialist will support 1Life in meeting all regulatory obligations and reducing compliance risk. Working as a trusted advisor to operational teams, you will apply risk‑management principles, policies and procedures to ensure the business operates within the law.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, identify, manage and report compliance risks across the organisation.
• Review draft legislation and regulatory proposals, providing comments and recommendations.
• Develop and implement compliance risk‑assessment plans for priority regulatory requirements.
• Recommend corrective actions, manage escalations and oversee regulatory breach handling.
• Execute end‑to‑end regulatory compliance projects within agreed timelines.
• Provide advice to first‑ and second‑line teams on insurance legislation and agreement structuring.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports to relevant authorities.
• Maintain a compliance‑aware culture by engaging regularly with key stakeholders.
