Compliance Officer

About the role

OUTsurance is seeking a Compliance Officer to manage day‑to‑day compliance risk activities and ensure the organisation meets all regulatory requirements and internal policies. You will work closely with senior leadership, risk committees and external regulators to safeguard the company’s compliance posture.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support and technical guidance on legislative compliance matters.
• Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining the Compliance Risk Management Framework.
• Identify, manage, mitigate and report regulatory and compliance risks to the Chief Risk Officer, internal risk committees and the Board.
• Analyse current and proposed legislation and deliver detailed, actionable analysis.
• Support senior management in responding to compliance queries and resolving issues.
• Ensure compliance policies, frameworks, processes and procedures are executed and continuously improved.
• Compile internal and external compliance reports and record non‑compliance matters.
• Influence legislative changes and regulator‑initiated projects.
• Engage with external stakeholders such as SAIA, ASISA and regulatory authorities, maintaining strong working relationships.
• Collaborate with Risk Management, Internal Audit, HR and other departments to route compliance issues appropriately.
• Coach and guide staff on compliance matters.
