Compliance Manager

About the role

The Compliance Manager will ensure Barloworld Equipment meets all legislative and regulatory requirements across Southern Africa. Reporting to senior leadership, you will drive the Group Regulatory Compliance Programme and foster an ethical culture throughout the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and implement the Group Regulatory Compliance Programme, ensuring adherence to external regulations and internal policies.
• Manage the full lifecycle of investigations into reported non‑compliances, including arranging investigations, providing feedback, overseeing corrective actions and ensuring timely closure.
• Lead the Group anti‑bribery and corruption (ABC) programme, maintaining policies, procedures and monitoring implementation.
• Stay current with new laws and regulations, assess their impact and advise management.
• Design or update internal policies to mitigate legal risk and coordinate periodic compliance reviews.
• Partner with Risk Management to identify and mitigate compliance‑related operational risks.
• Develop and deliver compliance training programmes in collaboration with HR.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors on ethics and compliance matters.

Required profile

• Proven experience in regulatory compliance, investigations and anti‑bribery programmes.
• Strong knowledge of South African legislation and the Protected Disclosures Act.
• Ability to interpret legal requirements and translate them into practical policies.
• Excellent analytical skills to identify compliance vulnerabilities and develop corrective action plans.
• Effective communication skills to work with senior management, risk functions and auditors.
