Communications Manager – Corridors

About the role

The Communications Manager will lead the implementation of Transnet Rail Infrastructure Managers' (TRIM) internal and external communications strategy for the Corridors. This role ensures consistent two‑way communication between management, employees, and the public, enhancing TRIM’s reputation and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, obtain approval for, and execute a comprehensive communications plan aligned with strategic objectives and best practice.
• Manage external media relationships, consult stakeholders, and represent TRIM at industry forums and business bodies.
• Monitor service delivery standards with stakeholders and oversee safety communication initiatives.
• Implement internal communication programmes, delivering regular updates to employees via multiple platforms.
• Draft media releases, statements, and respond to media inquiries related to the Corridors.
• Liaise with external service providers to ensure timely, budget‑compliant, and quality communications deliverables.
• Coordinate logistics for employee and media events, supporting broader communications initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant communications experience, preferably within transport or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of internal communications, media functions, applicable legislation, and commercial acumen.
• Proven ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships.
