Commodity Strategic Purchaser

About the role

The Commodity Strategic Purchaser leads end‑to‑end contractor performance management and strategic sourcing to meet key performance indicators. Working closely with product owners, planning, production, warehousing and quality assurance, the role ensures seamless alignment of procurement activities with serial production demands.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand product requirements and align procurement efforts.
• Assemble and coordinate teams, manage priorities and allocate resources to satisfy internal customers.
• Develop and execute strategies for on‑time delivery of outsourced or subcontracted manufacturing.
• Identify, qualify and negotiate with potential suppliers on price, delivery, and terms.
• Apply contractual terms, drive cost‑saving initiatives and process improvements.
• Support supplier selection, evaluation and inventory risk management.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and occupational health & safety requirements.
• Maintain supplier relationships, provide on‑time delivery and quality feedback.
• Track procurement performance metrics, generate reports and analyse data for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of supplier markets, strategic procurement, production planning and project management.
• Minimum 5 years of strategic sourcing, contracts management and project management experience; 10 years of related experience overall.
• Proven track record in contractor performance management and supplier relationship management.
• Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act, commercial law, international trade regulations and Incoterms.
• Ability to work independently on complex market analysis and negotiations.
