Commercial Operations Representative

About the role

MTN is recruiting a Representative for its Channel Commercial Operations SA division in Johannesburg. The role provides innovative solutions, executes merchandising plans and maintains MTN standards across stores in line with regional sales operations strategies. It covers field merchandising, distributor support, sales operations, customer service and training, and is advertised as part-time.

Key responsibilities

• Visit distributors and retail stores regularly to monitor merchandising standards and give operational support
• Communicate promotional plans, explain products and services, and help stores understand new campaigns
• Provide day-to-day training, support and guidance to distributors in the assigned region
• Monitor promotional compliance and ensure materials reflect MTN's corporate identity
• Build relationships with distributors, stores and other stakeholders, and respond to trade partner enquiries
• Contribute to customer acquisition and retention targets and identify sales opportunities
• Report regularly to management on store visits, merchandising activities and performance, and update the retail database
• Manage budgets, control costs and recommend continuous improvements

Required profile

• Completed Matric (Grade 12)
• At least two years of relevant experience, including working with others
• Knowledge of merchandising, sales operations, distributor support and customer service
• Good communication skills
