Code 14 Driver (Hazchem Certified)

About the role

We are looking for a responsible, safety‑focused Code 14 Driver who holds a valid Hazchem certification to transport hazardous and non‑hazardous goods across Gauteng and beyond. The role demands strict adherence to transport regulations, vehicle safety standards, and timely delivery of consignments.

Key responsibilities

• Operate heavy motor vehicles safely and professionally.
• Transport hazardous materials in line with Hazchem regulations.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections.
• Complete and maintain accurate transport documentation.
• Load and unload cargo safely when required.
• Secure loads with appropriate placarding and restraints.
• Report vehicle defects, incidents, or delays promptly.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and condition.
• Meet customer delivery schedules and service requirements.

Required profile

• Valid Code 14 Driver’s License (EC) and Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
• Valid Hazchem Certification.
• Grade 12 (Matric) preferred; Defensive Driving Certificate advantageous.
• 3‑5 years experience operating heavy‑duty vehicles, including hazardous chemicals.
• Clean driving record with no serious traffic violations.
• Medically fit and able to work in varying weather conditions.

Required skills

• Hazchem handling and emergency procedures.
• Heavy‑duty vehicle operation.
• Knowledge of South African road traffic laws and transport regulations.
• Accurate completion of delivery documentation.
