CNC Operator – Setting & Milling

About the role

Our client is looking for a skilled CNC Operator to join their manufacturing team in Durbanville. You will be responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining CNC equipment to produce high‑quality precision components according to engineering drawings and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up CNC machines, load programs and load raw materials for production runs.
• Operate CNC equipment to perform turning, milling, drilling, tapping, chamfering and related machining operations.
• Conduct test runs, monitor machine performance and carry out daily inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions and technical specifications.
• Inspect and measure machined parts, submit workpieces for quality control and ensure finished products meet dimensional requirements.
• Assist with valve and piping assembly, pressure testing and general workshop tasks as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop, using PPE and adhering to health‑and‑safety procedures.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification; mechanical engineering or technical certification is advantageous.
• Experience operating CNC machinery in a production environment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and follow detailed work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
