Cloud Engineer – Private & Hybrid Cloud

About the role

The Cloud Engineer will implement and maintain Nedbank's private and hybrid cloud environments, aligning with the bank's Cloud Strategy to optimise IT spend and drive automation efficiencies.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Infrastructure Designers and Platform Owners to review and approve cloud templates and patterns.
• Perform logical deployments of cloud configurations and automate cloud services.
• Integrate and consume services from public cloud providers.
• Maintain and enhance cloud service offerings, including portal and catalogue items.
• Ensure cloud services integrate with ITSM processes and meet SLA requirements.
• Conduct capacity planning and enforce enterprise and IT governance standards.
• Report on cloud performance and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide third‑level support to the cloud operations team and advise project workgroups on cloud matters.
• Rightsize infrastructure, keep certifications current, and stay updated on industry trends.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of cloud experience, preferably with Azure.
• Relevant IT degree or diploma; Matric/Grade 12 minimum.
• Public cloud and virtualization certifications (e.g., Azure, VMware) are preferred.
• Strong understanding of networking, storage area networks, database management, security, and disaster recovery.
