Close Protection Officer (CPO) – Executive Security

About the role

The Close Protection Officer (CPO) will deliver discreet, high‑quality executive protection for Afrirent Group’s senior leaders. The role combines secure transportation, risk assessment and rapid response to any security incident while adhering to all relevant legislation and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional executive protection and ensure safe, secure transport of executives to and from all destinations.
• Assess, mitigate and monitor security risks, identify potential threats and implement appropriate security measures.
• Plan journeys, manage vehicles and logistics, maintain situational awareness and respond calmly to emergencies or incidents.
• Ensure all travel complies with applicable legislation, company policies, security protocols and best business practices.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) and PSIRA Grade A certification.
• Code 08 driver’s licence, advanced defensive and offensive driving certification.
• At least 5 years’ experience in security, police, law enforcement or military, including 3 years as a Close Protection Officer.
• SASSETA‑approved CPO course and registration with SASSETA.
• Valid business‑purpose firearms certificate, Regulation 21, and Level 3 First Aid certification.

• Defensive and offensive driving expertise.
• First‑aid (Level 3) and emergency response capabilities.
• Legal compliance with PSIRA, Regulation 21 and firearms licensing.
