Clinical Training Specialist – Qualified

About the role

The Clinical Training Specialist – Qualified will be based at Life Groenkloof Hospital and report to the Nursing Standards Manager. This position is responsible for delivering clinical education to specialised units, qualified nurses and undergraduate students.

Key responsibilities

• Manage CPD programmes and other continuing education initiatives for qualified nurses.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor nursing competency requirements and risk‑based in‑service training.
• Provide coaching, mentoring and assessment to ensure clinical competence.
• Participate in incident investigations, quality projects and remedial actions.
• Oversee internal and external student clinical programmes, including selection, administration and resource management.
• Support students with research projects and facilitate clinical skills development.
• Contribute to marketing initiatives that promote the nursing profession and the hospital.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with a relevant Nursing Diploma or Degree.
• Post‑basic qualification in Nursing Education; postgraduate clinical qualification is an advantage.
• Critical Care Nursing experience and registration as an assessor/moderator with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Proven clinical leadership and knowledge of nursing legislation and education systems.
• Understanding of change‑management principles and strong facilitation/assessment abilities.
• Current annual SANC licence and computer proficiency.
