Clinical Nurse – Medical Ward (Experienced)

About the role

The Clinical Nurse will provide holistic, person‑centred care on a busy medical ward at Netcare Unitas Hospital. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will assess, plan and implement individualized nursing interventions for patients, their families and the community.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop tailored care plans.
• Coordinate care delivery with doctors, allied health professionals and support staff.
• Act as a clinical resource, guiding staff in documentation, evaluation and quality improvement.
• Maintain clear communication with patients, families and the wider health team, advocating for optimal patient outcomes.
• Initiate and manage emergency treatment (RESUS) when required.
• Document all nursing activities accurately in accordance with hospital SOPs and nursing theory.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (R/N) with proven experience on a medical ward.
• Strong understanding of holistic, person‑centred nursing practice.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and act as a patient advocate.
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families and health professionals.

Required skills

• Advanced nursing care procedures.
• Emergency response and resuscitation (RESUS) techniques.
• Patient assessment and care planning.
