Clinical Nurse – Experienced Scrub – Theatre

About the role

The Clinical Nurse (Scrub) will deliver holistic, patient‑centred care within the operating theatre at Netcare Moot Hospital. You will work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient surgical procedures and optimal patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to surgical patients, including pre‑operative assessment, intra‑operative support and post‑operative monitoring.
• Act as a clinical resource, guiding staff on nursing assessments, care planning and documentation.
• Maintain clear communication with patients, families and health professionals, advocating for patient needs.
• Implement advanced nursing interventions in accordance with SOPs, nursing theories and medical direction.
• Initiate and manage emergency treatment (RESUS) across all hospital areas when required.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and resolve patient‑care issues.

Required profile

• Registered Professional Nurse with experience in scrub/operating theatre nursing.
• Demonstrated ability to work in high‑pressure, fast‑paced environments.
• Strong knowledge of nursing theories, holistic care principles and patient advocacy.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with patients, families and the health‑care team.
