Claims Assessor – Short Term Insurance

About the role

BA Personnel is seeking an experienced Claims Assessor with a strong background in short‑term motor and non‑motor insurance. The successful candidate will manage claims from notification through to settlement, ensuring compliance with policy wording, underwriting principles and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage motor and non‑motor short‑term insurance claims from notification to settlement.
• Review policy wording, cover, exclusions and endorsements to determine claim validity.
• Evaluate supporting documentation, quotations, repair estimates and assessor reports.
• Manage motor claims including accident damage, theft, write‑offs, third‑party matters, towing, storage, salvage and repair authorisations.
• Assess non‑motor claims such as buildings, household contents, all‑risk and commercial property.
• Appoint and liaise with assessors, loss adjusters, repairers and other service providers.
• Identify potentially fraudulent or high‑risk claims and refer for investigation.
• Ensure claims are authorised within delegated authority limits and meet service‑level requirements.
• Communicate regularly with brokers, policyholders and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in short‑term motor and non‑motor insurance claims assessment.
• Strong understanding of policy wording, underwriting principles and regulatory standards.
• Ability to analyse technical documentation and make sound settlement recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills with brokers, policyholders and service providers.
