Chief Financial Officer

About the role

The Chief Financial Officer will provide strategic financial leadership for Tshwane Rapid Transit, safeguarding assets and ensuring accurate reporting within a BOCA environment. Reporting to the CEO and the Audit and Risk Committee, the CFO will drive financial health over a five‑year fixed‑term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all financial functions, develop and monitor financial, risk, IT and procurement strategies.
• Ensure finance policies comply with GAAP, IFRS and corporate guidelines, maintaining cash flow and reducing operating costs.
• Oversee preparation of financial statements, audit and tax affairs, and monthly management accounts.
• Manage fixed‑asset inventory, internal controls, budgeting and annual financial planning.
• Supervise investment of funds, risk mitigation, insurance coverage and revenue‑assurance activities.
• Direct procurement and IT functions, and lead debt and capital‑raising initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven senior executive experience in finance, preferably within large organisations or public transport.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, audit processes and tax compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial policies, risk frameworks and budgeting cycles.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
