Chief Executive Officer – Shared Services Company

About the role

The client seeks a dynamic Chief Executive Officer to lead their Shared Services Company, delivering centralized professional services across a diversified group of businesses. This role reports to the Board and is responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the shared services function. The CEO will ensure that the organization operates efficiently while meeting regulatory and stakeholder expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Shared Services Company, overseeing Accounting, Legal, Compliance and BBBEE functions.
• Drive operational excellence, governance, financial sustainability and regulatory compliance.
• Implement transformation initiatives and provide strategic support to group businesses.
• Oversee budgeting, financial reporting and cost control across all service lines.
• Ensure compliance with BBBEE regulations and drive transformation initiatives.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

Required profile

• BCom degree in Finance, Law or Business Administration.
• Post‑graduate qualification such as CA(SA) or MBA.
• 10–15 years of executive leadership experience, preferably in a shared services environment.
• Strong background in finance, governance and legal functions.
• Multi‑country experience within Southern Africa is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage change.
