Channel Representative – Commercial Operations

About the role

MTN is looking for a Channel Representative for Commercial Operations in Mpumalanga. The role provides innovative solutions, executes merchandising plans and maintains MTN standards so that stores perform well in line with regional sales operations channel strategies. It also trains distributors and stores, supports the rollout of promotions and plans, and helps meet retention and acquisition targets.

Key responsibilities

• Execute merchandising plans and promotions, including visual and point-of-sale merchandising, and ensure they follow the Promotional Brief and MTN corporate identity.
• Train distributors and stores on products, promotions, systems, services and customer experience, including on-the-job training and product orientation.
• Follow the regular call cycle for store visits, update the Retail Database for new and closed stores, and use the Globe Trotter in trade daily.
• Build and maintain relationships with distributors and stores, handle escalated queries and drive continuous improvement.
• Negotiate point-of-sale presence at sites, work with OEMs to make dummy units and point-of-sale displays available, and compile daily site reports.
• Manage the budget, identify cost savings and revenue opportunities, and ensure promotional material complies with corporate identity and MTN standards.
• Provide regular feedback to management, support audits, and help prepare channel-related process documents.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a specialised area, with experience working with others.
• Experience working in a small to medium organisation.
