Central Review Coordinator

About the role

ICON Strategic Solutions is hiring a Central Review Coordinator in Johannesburg to join its Central Review Services team, which delivers independent, centralized endpoint data evaluation, grading and data management for one of its Big Pharma FSP partners. The role works in a sponsor-dedicated model, supported by ICON's global expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain Study Trackers.
• Monitor screening deadlines, follow up with sites on data entry and escalate visits not released for review or queries not resolved within timelines.
• Determine which study visits and sweeps are ready for review using page status and query reports.
• Create, send and process reviewer assignments, including query tracking.
• Download and compile files for patient profiles, post them on the Central Grading Portal for the Data Programmer, and create the internal agenda and meeting minutes.
• Maintain action/decision logs and file documents in the Central Grading Portal and eTMF.
• Liaise with Directors, therapeutic experts, internal team members and sponsors.
• Review study datasets before client transfer, monitor review progress against timelines and report issues and risks to the Lead Central Review Manager.
• Participate in database lock activities and act as CR Coordinator on several projects.

Required profile

• BSc in Life Sciences with solid experience in a CRO or the pharmaceutical industry.
• Genuine interest in developing a career in clinical data using clinical experience.
• Experience in most study tasks.
• Ability to work in a project team with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, effective time management and prioritization.

Required skills

• Experience with at least one data management system, such as Rave.
• Microsoft Word and Excel.
