Case Manager – General Ward (X2)

About the role

A vacancy exists for a Case Manager General Ward (X2) based at Life Eugene Marais Hospital, reporting to the Patient Services Manager. The successful candidate will manage the financial and clinical risks of patients in a general ward by ensuring accurate coding, clinical updates and timely account submissions.

Key responsibilities

• Ensuring maximisation of revenue through accurate coding and timely account submissions.
• Monitoring insurance verification, workflow processes and funder contracts.
• Performing quality walk‑abouts, implementing corrective measures and quality‑improvement programmes.
• Managing escalations, stakeholder complaints and non‑compliance issues.
• Updating length of stay, level of care and releasing care‑risk targets within two days of discharge.

Required profile

• Grade 12 diploma or degree in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Clinical Associates, Paramedics, Critical Care Assistants or related health sciences.
• Current SANC registration and knowledge of hospital patient services and case‑management processes.
• Understanding of CPT & ICD coding, funder contracts, scheme rules and private hospital practices.
