Care Worker – Emergency Centre

About the role

The Care Worker will support the nursing unit staff in an Emergency Centre, helping to deliver safe and high‑quality patient care. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the role focuses on patient safety, risk reporting and contributing to a positive patient experience.

Key responsibilities

• Support and assist nursing unit staff in delivering quality patient care within a team approach.
• Identify and report risks in line with hospital policies.
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by assisting nursing staff.
• Provide administrative support to the nursing unit as required.
• Participate in continuous personal development to build staff competence.
• Ensure efficient utilisation and accurate charging of required stock.

Required profile

• Essential education: appropriate qualification as a Care Worker.
• Desired education: Grade 12.
• Essential experience: prior experience in a healthcare environment.
• No additional experience required.

Required skills

• Understanding of stock control principles.
• Ability to report and document events and tasks.
• Knowledge of medico‑legal risks.
• Familiarity with administrative tasks.
• Understanding of patient experience aspects.
