About the role

The Care Worker – Critical Care will support the nursing unit staff in delivering safe, high‑quality patient care within a multidisciplinary team. This role focuses on assisting nurses, ensuring efficient stock use, and contributing to a positive patient experience in a critical care setting.

Key responsibilities

• Support and assist nursing unit staff in the delivery of quality patient care.
• Identify and report risks in line with hospital policies.
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by assisting the nursing team.
• Provide administrative support as specified.
• Participate in continuous personal development to build staff competence.
• Ensure efficient utilisation and accurate charging of required stock.

Required profile

• Appropriate qualification as a Care Worker.
• Grade 12 education.
• Essential experience in a healthcare environment.

• Understanding of stock control principles.
• Ability to report and document events and tasks.
• Knowledge of medico‑legal risks.
• Familiarity with administrative tasks.
