Capital Management Analyst

About the role

Absa is seeking a diligent Capital Management Analyst to join its team in Sandton. The role supports the Africa Region’s ten subsidiaries across nine African markets, ensuring capital is managed effectively, efficiently, and in line with Group Treasury guidelines and regulatory mandates.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement capital plans, monitor utilisation against approved targets and strategic objectives.
• Aggregate subsidiary capital plans for monthly reporting and forecasting cycles.
• Prepare and present capital management reports to governance forums such as the AR Treasury Committee and Group Risk and Capital Management Committee.
• Maintain capital management reporting systems, dashboards and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Identify emerging risks, escalate concerns on capital adequacy, and recommend corrective actions.
• Review Single Borrower Limit excess requests and analyse foreign‑currency risks affecting subsidiary capital positions.
• Provide expertise for ICAAPs, stress testing, recovery and resolution planning, and ACS buffer setting.
• Support dividend policy compliance, recapitalisation activities and peer benchmarking for optimisation opportunities.

Required profile

• Strong analytical background with experience in capital management, treasury, or financial planning and analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to present complex information clearly.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, cross‑functional environment.
