Candidate Attorney – Pretoria

About the role

Our client, a well‑established law firm in Pretoria, is looking for a motivated Candidate Attorney to join their legal team. This full‑time position offers a recent law graduate the chance to develop practical skills under the mentorship of experienced attorneys in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with litigation and general legal matters.
• Draft legal documents, pleadings, notices, agreements and correspondence.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions.
• Attend client consultations and liaise with counsel, advocates, sheriffs and the Master of the High Court.
• Support High Court and Magistrates' Court litigation, including preparing court files, bundles and attending appearances.
• Assist in drafting and preparing legal applications and ensure accurate filing of documents.
• Perform general legal and administrative duties as required.

Required profile

• LLB degree (minimum qualification).
• Strong academic record (advantageous).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong legal research and drafting abilities.
• Own car with a valid driver’s licence.
• Computer literate with proficiency in the Microsoft Office package.
