CAD Operator

About the role

The Prototype department of Bravo Brands Manufacturing is looking for a skilled CAD Operator to turn lounge suite concepts into precise technical drawings, cutting patterns and digital models. You will support the creation of accurate prototypes that bridge design and production.

Key responsibilities

• Convert design sketches and briefs into detailed CAD drawings and 3‑D models.
• Produce technical drawings for frames, patterns and component parts used in prototype development.
• Create and adjust cutting patterns for fabric, leather and foam, optimizing material usage through nesting.
• Update and revise drawings based on feedback from designers, upholsterers and production staff.
• Maintain version control and an organised library of CAD files, ensuring only approved drawings are used.
• Document changes with clear version histories and provide accurate hand‑over documentation for production.
• Identify discrepancies between design specifications and prototype samples and raise issues as needed.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience as a CAD Operator, preferably in furniture, upholstery or related manufacturing.
• Relevant qualification in draughting, CAD design or a similar technical field.
• Strong understanding of furniture construction, materials and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, sketches and design briefs.
• Willingness to work overtime to meet prototype deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Experience using ACCUNEST.
• Familiarity with industry‑specific pattern and nesting software.
