C# Developer

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced C# Developer to join a dynamic software engineering team in Johannesburg. The role focuses on building and maintaining high‑performance back‑end services and RESTful APIs that support enterprise‑wide digital transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable C# applications and back‑end services.
• Create, document and manage RESTful APIs for internal and external integrations.
• Integrate applications with databases, third‑party systems and enterprise platforms.
• Write clean, maintainable, well‑documented code following best practices.
• Troubleshoot software defects, API issues and integration challenges.
• Optimise application performance, scalability and reliability.
• Participate in system design discussions, code reviews and technical planning.
• Support testing, deployment and post‑deployment maintenance activities.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years of hands‑on C# development experience.
• Strong back‑end development expertise with a focus on RESTful services.
• Proven ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

• C# and .NET Framework / .NET Core
• RESTful API design and integration
• SQL database development and query optimisation
• Object‑oriented programming principles and design patterns
• Version control systems (e.g., Git)
• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (advantageous)
