Buyer – Sheet Street

About the role

You will own a specialised product portfolio, shaping an assortment that resonates with customers. By anticipating trends three seasons ahead, you will drive the full product lifecycle from concept to store delivery, while mentoring emerging buying talent.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse trade results, competitor moves and supplier performance to refine seasonal strategy and present a comprehensive plan covering targets, pricing, supplier approach and marketing tie‑ins.
• Design a balanced assortment across sub‑categories, attributes and promotions; brief designers, source samples, secure approvals and ensure KPI, width, depth and sales targets are met.
• Manage the end‑to‑end execution: raise purchase orders, control the critical path, and coordinate with Planning and Sourcing to deliver products on time, within budget and to specification.
• Develop and maintain supplier partnerships, scout new partners, negotiate total cost of ownership while safeguarding quality and timelines.
• Monitor live season performance, adjust trade calls to protect stock levels, and keep stakeholders informed of any shifts.
• Track global and local trends, competitor pricing and product innovations to identify growth opportunities and bring new ideas from concept to production.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree.
• 5+ years of buying experience, preferably in homeware or related categories.
• Strong technical knowledge of garment/product construction, fabrics, fibres and quality standards.
• Solid understanding of business strategy, retail market trends and commercial judgement.
• Comfortable working with numbers and systems; excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
