Business Manager

About the role

CF Consulting is seeking a Business Manager to lead its Natural Resources portfolio across Southern Africa. Based in Sandton, the role combines strategic planning, operational oversight and market development for a range of services including geochemistry, energy trade, metallurgy and engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business strategies to drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability and long‑term performance.
• Hold full operational accountability for the Natural Resources portfolio (Geochemistry, Trade Energy, Trade Non‑Energy, Metallurgy, Mineralogy, Oil, Gas & Chemicals, Engineering Services).
• Lead regional operations, ensuring alignment with company objectives, quality standards and financial targets.
• Identify, develop and launch new business opportunities and service offerings in collaboration with Business Development teams.
• Direct business planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance management processes.
• Monitor financial performance, identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Lead talent acquisition, succession planning, skills development and training initiatives across multiple locations.
• Foster a collaborative, performance‑driven culture focused on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support expansion initiatives.
• Oversee contract management, negotiations and commercial terms for international and domestic projects.
• Ensure continuous improvement of the Quality Management System and Quality Assurance Programme.
• Maintain regular communication with executive leadership on performance, risks and strategic initiatives.
• Champion Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (QHSE) compliance and environmental legislation.
