Business Development Specialist – Funeral Services Growth

About the role

We are looking for a highly driven Business Development Specialist to lead growth initiatives within our Funeral Service department. You will identify and execute strategic opportunities such as acquisitions, branch and crematorium expansion, lead generation, and contract development. The role requires a strategic mindset, strong business acumen, and the ability to manage complex projects in a regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess, and support acquisition opportunities for funeral homes, land, and cremation facilities.
• Conduct feasibility studies and develop business cases for expansion projects.
• Coordinate due‑diligence processes with Finance, Legal, Compliance, Operations and other stakeholders.
• Drive branch footprint expansion by selecting strategic locations and ensuring operational readiness.
• Lead crematorium expansion initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance and commercial viability.
• Develop and implement lead‑generation strategies to fuel business growth.
• Secure contract business across corporate, government, municipal, industrial, union and community sectors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor project performance, manage risks and ensure governance compliance.
• Provide market insights and recommendations for long‑term growth planning.
• Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals and business pitches to prospective clients.
