Business Development Specialist – Data & Analytics Recruitment

About the role

We are seeking a Business Development Specialist to drive new client revenue for a leading specialist recruitment brand in Data & Analytics. The role is fully remote, based in South Africa, and offers commercial autonomy to own a defined market segment across the UK and US.

Key responsibilities

• Map and build a cold client base within a chosen data vertical (AI/ML, Data Engineering, Data Science, or Full‑Stack Software Engineering).
• Identify and prospect hiring managers, department heads, and talent acquisition leaders.
• Generate new business through outbound calling, LinkedIn outreach, and referrals using a phone‑first approach.
• Brief the delivery team on client requirements to ensure seamless placement execution.
• Maintain pipeline visibility and provide regular commercial reporting on progress, closures, and stalls.

Required profile

• Proven business development billing history in data, analytics, or tech recruitment.
• Experience in the UK or US recruitment market with a clear understanding of client buying cycles and fee structures.
• Comfortable with cold outreach and strong phone communication skills.
• Self‑managed, able to set targets and structure the work week independently.

What we offer

• Base salary of R28,000–R38,000 per month.
• Commission structure: 5% on placements up to GBP 12k, 7% on GBP 12k–20k, 10% above GBP 20k.
• Remote work with flexible hours (9:30 am–6:30 pm SAST).
