Business Development Representative

About the role

A leading Health & Safety organisation is looking for an experienced Business Development Representative to drive strategic growth across African and international markets. You will identify high‑value opportunities, negotiate complex contracts and build lasting client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop strategic business opportunities in targeted markets.
• Build and manage a robust pipeline of high‑value prospects.
• Design market‑entry and expansion strategies aligned with growth objectives.
• Lead commercial negotiations with senior stakeholders and secure long‑term contracts.
• Prepare compelling proposals and tenders that demonstrate clear client ROI.
• Maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and provide intelligence to shape strategy.
• Represent the organisation at industry events and conferences.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver practical client solutions.
• Mentor junior sales representatives and ensure accurate CRM and pipeline reporting.

Required profile

• 7–10 years of experience in business development, strategic sales or commercial leadership.
• Proven track record of securing large‑scale contracts and driving revenue growth.
• Experience working across African markets with strong commercial and financial acumen.
• Excellent negotiation, influencing and executive‑level communication skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Gauteng and beyond.
