Business Development Officer - Vehicle Asset Finance (FAIS)

About the role

Absa Bank is looking for a Business Development Officer for its Vehicle Asset Finance (VAF) division, working under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services (FAIS) framework. The role drives sales performance and strengthens relationships with dealers so that Absa remains a preferred partner in vehicle financing. It is based in Pretoria.

Key responsibilities

• Drive and manage the achievement of sales targets across the dealer network, including overseeing incentive programmes.
• Cultivate long-term relationships with dealerships through regular meetings and site visits, discussing Absa's VAF offerings and addressing dealer concerns.
• Promote Absa's VAF brand and value proposition to dealers and their F&I teams.
• Handle all customer interactions professionally and efficiently.
• Identify dealers with low engagement or no business, analyse why they are detached, and apply retention strategies to turn them into active partners.
• Meet agreed targets for value-added products such as extended warranties and insurance, with performance linked to incentives such as DIC payouts.

Required profile

• NQF Level 6 qualification in a commerce-related field, or an equivalent; a Higher Diploma in Business, Commerce and Management Studies is required.
• FSCA-approved qualification relevant to the role and successful completion of the Regulatory Examination for Representatives (RE5).
• Experience as stipulated by the FAIS Act for intermediary services, plus product-specific and Class of Business training after onboarding.
• Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) and good standing.
• Strong understanding of the automotive finance sector and proven ability to build commercial relationships.
