Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive new business aligned with Savino Del Bene’s strategy, while upholding core values of teamwork, integrity, innovation, trust, quality and respect. The role focuses on acquiring and nurturing external customers across the global Savino Del Bene network.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities, track estimates and measure external customer satisfaction.
• Manage pricing processes for air, sea and road proposals and ensure accurate estimates.
• Collaborate with the Sales Director to develop new products and explore untapped market segments.
• Maintain relationships with existing customers and ensure all new clients sign standard terms and credit applications.
• Handle routine operational issues, escalating matters when necessary.
• Maintain up‑to‑date product knowledge and monitor all sales activities, including calls, meetings and follow‑ups.
• Promote the Savino brand through effective channels.

Required profile

• Matriculation and a bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or a related field; a diploma is also acceptable.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in logistics, air or sea imports/exports is advantageous.
• Minimum five years of sales experience in logistics, transport or supply‑chain management.
• Valid driver’s licence, own car and a proven record of earning commission.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Experience using SDBSA systems and products.
• Knowledge of forwarding, clearing and logistics processes.
• Advertising and sales‑promotion techniques.
• Negotiation and deal‑closing abilities.
