Business Development Manager Agriculture

About the role

The Business Development Manager – Agriculture will identify and create new market opportunities, build strategic partnerships and drive revenue growth within the agricultural sector. Reporting to the GM Regional Network Southern Africa, the role focuses on expanding the presence of capital equipment solutions for farmers and dealers.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse market trends and customer needs to uncover growth opportunities.
• Build and nurture strong relationships with potential customers, dealers and strategic partners.
• Identify, negotiate and establish partnership agreements that support market expansion.
• Provide sales organisations with relevant information, resources and recommendations.
• Explore new applications and solutions within the agricultural market.
• Develop strategic plans aligned with emerging market trends.
• Track key performance indicators such as revenue growth, partnership success and market penetration.
• Report on metrics and propose actions to capitalize on identified opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum education: Grade 12 (post‑secondary education valued).
• 5+ years of experience in the capital equipment industry serving the agricultural market.
• Proven track record in sales management and senior stakeholder relationship management.
• Strong understanding of agricultural environments, requirements and cultural contexts.
• High competence in computer literacy and data analysis.
• Effective communication, adaptability, analytical thinking and a strategic mindset.
