Business Development & Account Manager

About the role

Positron SE, a BBBEE level 2 recruitment and IT consulting firm, is seeking a dynamic Business Development & Account Manager. The role combines a hunter mindset for acquiring new clients with a farmer approach to grow existing accounts across banking, financial services, and IT sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, approach, and secure new business opportunities with large companies in banking, insurance, financial services, IT, health care and related industries.
• Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients, introducing new services and exploring additional business areas.
• Present recruitment and IT consulting solutions, lead tenders and RFQs, negotiate terms and close deals.
• Manage a portfolio of placed contractors, oversee contract renewals, and coordinate with client companies on rate adjustments.
• Collaborate closely with Positron’s Talent Acquisition team to deliver top‑tier candidates to clients.
• Provide regular feedback on market trends, new opportunities, and activity outcomes.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of experience in business development or new‑business sales.
• Proven track record of winning new clients, especially in banking, financial services, or IT.
• Deep understanding of the recruitment, consulting, contracting and labour‑broking industries.
• Strong communication, presentation and relationship‑building abilities.
• Target‑driven, self‑motivated and comfortable working independently.
• Own vehicle and clear criminal and credit records.
