Business Consultant – Petroleum Industry

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Business Consultant to support our petroleum retail network across Gauteng, Mpumalanga and the North West. You will drive sales growth, ensure operational consistency, and manage financial performance for multiple fuel sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and monitor site budgets, set volume targets and analyse performance trends.
• Increase fuel and non‑fuel sales through initiatives such as convenience store and car‑wash promotions.
• Liaise with supply and logistics teams to guarantee reliable fuel deliveries and minimise disruptions.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, coordinate repairs and ensure compliance with credit limits.
• Act as the primary contact for retailers, resolving operational and financial issues while enforcing contractual obligations.
• Identify growth opportunities, report risks and support cross‑functional projects such as rebranding and municipal permitting.
• Assist the brand with marketing campaign execution, localised initiatives and performance analysis.
• Organise mandatory retailer training, monitor customer service via mystery‑shopper reports and manage escalated complaints.
• Prepare and submit operational reports, incident logs and site visit documentation to senior management.

Required profile

• Grade 12 plus a relevant Business or Marketing qualification, or at least 5 years of business consulting experience in the petroleum sector.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Gauteng, Mpumalanga and the North West.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and financial metrics.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and issue resolution.
