Building Manager

About the role

An established manufacturing company in Pretoria West is looking for a reliable Building Manager to maintain and improve its facilities and infrastructure. The role involves overseeing building upkeep, repairs, and preventative maintenance while ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute building construction, renovation, and maintenance projects for the group and associated housing properties.
• Conduct routine inspections and perform corrective and preventative maintenance on structures, roofing, flooring, doors, windows, and fencing.
• Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, taps, toilets, and drainage.
• Perform basic electrical maintenance such as lighting, plug points, and switches.
• Oversee grounds, parking areas, boundary walls, walkways, and garden upkeep.
• Maintain tools and equipment, keep accurate maintenance records, schedules, and inventories.
• Coordinate external contractors, obtain quotations, and assist with budgeting and planning.
• Ensure SHEQ compliance and report maintenance risks and hazards.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in building, construction or facilities management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of general construction, plumbing and basic electrical maintenance.
• Ability to read building plans and technical drawings.
• Good planning, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Physically fit, valid driver’s licence and residence near the Pretoria West factory.
