Branch Consultant / Financial Advisor

About the role

The Branch Consultant/Financial Advisor will promote Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM) products and increase market share by delivering sound financial advice and high‑level client service within a branch environment. You will create opportunities for client optimisation, cross‑selling of value‑added services and ensure customers receive the most suitable and affordable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Gain and maintain in‑depth knowledge of SRM product ranges.
• Understand customers' financial goals and recommend appropriate products.
• Keep clients informed of new products or changes to existing ones.
• Validate client details, submit new business and conduct due‑diligence to flag risks.
• Prioritise daily appointments while handling walk‑in and non‑appointment clients.
• Service and manage client profiles, send payment reminders and follow‑up on queries.
• Monitor and act on NTUs (clients Not Taken Up) and ensure payment persistency.
• Consult on alternative payment arrangements and process them correctly.
• Guide clients through policy cancellations and present alternative options.
• Resolve client queries in‑branch or escalate using the established framework.

Required profile

• Ability to provide sound financial advice and high‑quality client service.
• Strong understanding of SRM product range and regulatory requirements.
• Capacity to manage daily appointments and walk‑in client flow.
• Competence in conducting due‑diligence and identifying client risks.
• Proactive approach to client retention and payment persistency.
