About the role
The Bookkeeper supports the Message Operations Team by handling day‑to‑day finance tasks and working closely with the Finance Officer to ensure accurate financial reporting for the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee payment processing, obtain authorisations and load payments onto the Nedbank system.
- Maintain up‑to‑date financial records, reconcile bank statements and manage petty cash using Xero.
- Prepare, issue and follow up on invoices, supporting monthly financial close and reporting.
- Assist with payroll administration and provide financial support for fundraising events.
Required profile
- Proven experience with Xero or a similar accounting package.
- Strong competence in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to handle confidential information and work collaboratively within a team.
- Commitment to the Christian values of The Message Trust and adherence to safeguarding policies.
