Bookkeeper or Junior Accountant (Midrand)

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Bookkeeper or Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Midrand. The successful candidate will support day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Process journal entries and maintain up‑to‑date financial ledgers.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing and payment processing.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE and other statutory filings.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Provide timely financial information to internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Matric / Senior Certificate and a Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or Bookkeeping (or equivalent).
• 1–3 years of experience in a similar bookkeeping or junior accounting role is an advantage.
• High level of accuracy, strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Excellent organizational, time‑management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining confidentiality.
• Professional attitude with integrity, honesty and a customer‑service focus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage, Pastel, QuickBooks or Xero.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the broader MS Office suite.
