Bookkeeper – Manufacturing Firm in Boksburg

About the role

The manufacturing company located east of Johannesburg is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage its financial records. The role involves daily transaction processing, account reconciliation, and supporting month‑end and year‑end activities while ensuring compliance with internal policies and legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Process all accounting transactions daily and maintain the general ledger.
• Capture journals, accruals, pre‑payments and manage cash books and bank transactions.
• Prepare and support month‑end and year‑end closing procedures.
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Manage accounts payable: reconcile supplier statements, schedule payments and maintain creditor analyses.
• Manage accounts receivable: raise invoices, allocate receipts, reconcile customer accounts and support credit control.
• Maintain accurate filing systems and ensure records are audit‑ready.
• Assist with inventory purchases, stock adjustments and valuation where applicable.
• Support payroll administration, including payroll journals and employee records.

Required profile

• Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under deadlines.
• Good numerical aptitude and understanding of statutory compliance.
• Leadership qualities are considered an advantage.
