Bookkeeper

About the role

Our client, a professional services organisation based in Sandton, is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join the finance team. The role involves managing the full bookkeeping function through to trial balance using Sage Pastel Partner. The ideal candidate is highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to work independently.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance.
• Process daily accounting transactions using Sage Pastel Partner.
• Perform complex reconciliations (bank, supplier, customer, trust, inter‑company, loan, VAT control).
• Manage debtors and creditors, process supplier payments and prepare month‑end debtor statements.
• Assist with month‑end reporting and financial statement preparation.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Bookkeeping, Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 5 years of all‑round bookkeeping experience.
• Proven experience with Sage Pastel Partner.
• Strong reconciliation experience and attention to detail.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Supervisory experience and experience in legal or professional services advantageous.

What we offer

• Salary range R25,000 – R35,000 CTC per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
