Bookkeeper

About the role

Lexdan Select is supporting a manufacturer in Epping, Cape Town to hire a full‑time Bookkeeper. The role is fully onsite and offers a salary between R25 000 and R35 000 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full debtors and creditors ledger.
• Reconcile incoming client payments and trigger jobs into production.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and load payments for authorisation via FNB online banking.
• Follow up on outstanding client payments and manage supplier terms.
• Maintain accurate VAT records and support SARS audits.
• Keep Xero up‑to‑date on an ongoing basis.
• Prepare and send quotes together with the Commercial Manager.
• Identify overdue payments and cash‑flow risks early.
• Support monthly reporting and help pinpoint unnecessary costs.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of bookkeeping or accounts experience, preferably in manufacturing or export.
• Proven end‑to‑end management of debtors and creditors.
• Recognised South African bookkeeping qualification (e.g., ICB National Diploma, NQF Level 5) or equivalent.
• Solid knowledge of the VAT Act and SARS record‑keeping requirements.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of Xero.
• Experience loading and authorising payments through FNB business online banking.
