Bookkeeper – Foreign Creditors Specialist

About the role

The Bookkeeper (RT) will manage both local and foreign creditor transactions, ensuring accurate recording and compliance with ISO9001, banking and exchange control regulations. This full‑time position supports the Accounts Department and contributes to month‑end close processes.

Key responsibilities

• Capture supplier invoices and payments data.
• Reconcile foreign creditor accounts and local/foreign currency ledger accounts.
• Resolve account queries, adjustments and journal entries.
• Process and record transactions in line with ISO9001, banking and exchange control procedures.
• File, archive and perform general administrative/accounting functions.
• Provide backup support to other accounts staff as needed.
• Prepare company accounts to trial balance and reconcile the general ledger to sub‑ledgers (AP, AR, cashbooks, inventory, WIP, fixed assets).
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and submit statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, etc.).
• Pay local and overseas creditors and manage cashbooks, daily cash resources and inter‑account transfers.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years bookkeeping experience with foreign creditor handling.
• Matriculation and a bookkeeping diploma or certificate.
• Knowledge of Syspro and general administrative processes.
• Non‑smoker and own transport preferred.
