Bookkeeper – Accounting Practice

About the role

A well‑established accounting firm in Pretoria East is looking for an experienced, detail‑oriented Bookkeeper to manage the bookkeeping function for a portfolio of clients. The role is deadline‑driven and offers the chance to work with a professional team in a reputable practice.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain full bookkeeping up to trial balance for multiple clients.
• Process and reconcile bank accounts, debtors, creditors and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Assist with monthly management accounts and month‑end journal entries.
• Support year‑end financial information and audit preparation.
• Liaise with clients on financial queries and ensure compliance with SARS and statutory requirements.
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as required.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
• Own car with a valid driver’s licence.
• Previous experience working in an accounting firm.
