About the role

The Boiler Utilities Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of steam boiler systems within an industrial environment. This role ensures continuous production while adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor steam boilers and associated equipment.
• Execute boiler house safety checks and follow standard operating procedures.
• Perform basic maintenance, identify faults, and initiate corrective actions.
• Log and report boiler performance data and any anomalies accurately.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, including Pressure Equipment Regulations.
• Manage steam system start‑up, shutdown, and operational adjustments.
• Apply knowledge of water chemistry and treatment to maintain system integrity.
• Respond to emergency situations according to established protocols.

Required profile

• Experience in operating and monitoring industrial steam boilers.
• Familiarity with safety checks, SOPs, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot boiler issues.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate logging and reporting.
• Understanding of water chemistry and treatment processes.
• Capability to act swiftly in emergency response situations.
