BIM Project Quality Coordinator

About the role

SAOTA is looking for a BIM Project Quality Coordinator to support studio‑wide delivery by monitoring and improving model quality across live projects. The role works at the intersection of project delivery, BIM standards, quality assurance and skills development, providing preventative support to keep model health visible and measurable.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project programmes, Gantt charts and workbooks to anticipate upcoming milestones.
• Schedule and facilitate proactive model quality check‑ins ahead of key deliverables.
• Identify and escalate risks in under‑resourced, highly complex or high‑priority projects.
• Maintain records of interventions, agreed actions, owners and follow‑up dates.
• Coordinate and review automated model audits and conduct manual checklist‑based reviews.
• Organise mid‑stage (50%) and stage‑completion model reviews.
• Ensure audits and reporting are completed when projects pause, restart or transition between teams.
• Perform random spot checks on live projects and raise recurring quality concerns.
• Support the BIM Manager in defining model quality expectations and developing audit checklists.
• Assist with BIM Execution Plan content related to model quality, standards and responsibilities.
• Monitor compliance with naming conventions, file structures, templates and view standards.
• Issue audit findings, track corrective actions and escalate unresolved issues to the BIM Manager and project leaders.
• Analyse recurring modelling issues and create practical guidance, FAQs and best‑practice resources for project teams.

• Strong eye for quality, accountability and proactive risk identification.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate reviews and share knowledge.
