Billing Auditor – Health Group

About the role

The Billing Auditor will support the Health Group’s financial integrity by auditing hospital billing processes and ensuring compliance with medical scheme contracts. This full‑time position is based in Cape Town and reports to the finance management team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform billing audit duties in line with Health Group standards and procedures.
• Apply patient‑advocacy principles while reviewing billing records.
• Analyse management reports to identify negative trends and recommend corrective actions.
• Optimize hospital product billing according to company requirements and medical‑scheme contracts.
• Execute end‑of‑case procedures on the approved system.
• Maintain accurate supplier invoices and ensure proper documentation.
• Manage private‑patient billing, generate final invoices on SAP, and forward files to collections.
• Audit patient files per company and medical‑scheme agreements.
• Produce reporting insights by spotting discrepancies and inconsistencies.

Required profile

• Diploma in Nursing.
• 2–3 years of experience in a hospital billing environment.
• Advanced computer literacy.
• Familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
