BI Analysis Team Lead

About the role

Turn data into direction, lead people and shape smarter decisions. Mukuru is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Analysis Team Lead to head a team that builds scalable data models, analytics solutions and reporting tools.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of BI, data and analytics specialists, set expectations and remove delivery obstacles.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business challenges into reporting, modelling and analytics solutions.
• Design, develop and maintain high‑performing data models, semantic reporting layers and self‑service dashboards.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of BI projects, manage roadmaps, communicate progress and train users.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification, preferably in a quantitative field.
• At least six years of experience in data analytics or business intelligence.
• Minimum three years leading BI or analytics specialists.
• Proven track record delivering BI projects with measurable business impact.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Power BI for dashboard development and data visualisation.
• Advanced SQL and Excel.
• Semantic and dimensional data modelling.
• R or Python for data analytics (advantage).
• Experience with cloud analytics platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, Azure Synapse or BigQuery.
• DevOps practices including version control, automated testing and CI/CD.
