Banqueting Co‑ordinator – Cape Town Hotel

About the role

Our client, a 4‑star hotel in Cape Town, is looking for a proactive Banqueting Co‑ordinator to oversee the planning and execution of conventions, functions and events. The role blends administrative precision with strong customer service to ensure every event runs smoothly and exceeds guest expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all administrative tasks for the banqueting department, including bookings, amendments and site inspections.
• Liaise with client groups and internal departments to coordinate event details and schedules.
• Maintain high service standards by handling guest inquiries, feedback and special requests.
• Identify sales and marketing opportunities within established policies and promote additional services.
• Collaborate with kitchen, front‑office and other teams to guarantee seamless event delivery.
• Work independently or as part of a team to uphold consistent quality standards.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification with strong numeracy and excellent written and verbal English.
• Minimum 2 years hospitality experience, including at least 1 year in a reservations environment.
• Residency in Cape Town or surrounding areas.

Required skills

• Strong planning and prioritisation to manage multiple events simultaneously.
• Attention to detail in documentation, scheduling and guest requirements.
